The Agenda Nigeria is a platform for championing initiatives and constructive dialogues on sociopolitical and economic issues in Nigeria. The mission is to accelerate the process of nation-building by engaging and inspiring young Nigerians who represent the most productive and active demography of the nation to be at the centre of Nation Building initiatives.
The Agenda Nigeria is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 16 – Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.
The first edition held on the 1st of October, 2018 with the theme – Changing the Narratives. Over 300 youths were in attendance to participate in the event. It hosted speakers including Pastor Dare Adeboye, the International Director of Programmes, RCCG Young Adults and Youth Affairs, Yemi Adamolekun, Executive Secretary, EiE Nigeria, Ope Awoyemi, Co-founder of Jobberman, Ayoola Jolayemi, CEO SwiftThink Ltd.
The event elicited dialogues and conversations aimed at sensitizing citizens on basic civil rights which centers around the position of an average citizen as a stakeholder in governance as well as strategies to guide citizens’ decision making at the recently concluded general elections.
