About The Agenda

The Agenda Nigeria is a platform for championing initiatives and constructive dialogues on sociopolitical and economic issues in Nigeria. The mission is to accelerate the process of nation-building by engaging and inspiring young Nigerians who represent the most productive and active demography of the nation to be at the centre of Nation Building initiatives.
The Agenda Nigeria is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 16 – Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.
The first edition held on the 1st of October, 2018 with the theme – Changing the Narratives. Over 300 youths were in attendance to participate in the event. It hosted speakers including Pastor Dare Adeboye, the International Director of Programmes, RCCG Young Adults and Youth Affairs, Yemi Adamolekun, Executive Secretary, EiE Nigeria, Ope Awoyemi, Co-founder of Jobberman, Ayoola Jolayemi, CEO SwiftThink Ltd.
The event elicited dialogues and conversations aimed at sensitizing citizens on basic civil rights which centers around the position of an average citizen as a stakeholder in governance as well as strategies to guide citizens’ decision making at the recently concluded general elections.

Objectives

Mind-shift

Create a mind-shift from a nobody to a stakeholder in an average Nigerian youth.

Enabling

Enable the evolution from passive to active participant/contributor to nation-building.

Action

Encourage young Nigerians to undertake positive actions for good governance and Nation Building.

THE AGENDA 3.0

The Agenda 3.0 aims to advance conversations around youth involvement/participation in governance to drive the desired change and development the country needs. The discussions will highlight ways and areas where youths can participate in Nation Building.
At this edition, the Agenda will hold virtually and will hold over a period of four days from September 29th – October 2nd 2020

Highlights of Activities

Speech presentations

Here, we will invite seasoned speakers both within and outside Nigeria to address topical issues in line with our set goal and objectives.

Panel Sessions

Entails exhaustive dissection of key issues by several experts and opinion influencers in related fields which will enable interaction with the audience.

Interview sessions

Seasoned speakers with wealth of experience in areas of focus will be engaged live on stage to enlighten the audience on the bone of contention. 

Mentorship

Mechanisms are been put in place to ensure that consistent participants who are interested in governance and political leadership in line with our set goal and objectives as well as agenda, will be mentored to ensure they achieve fulfill dreams and contribute to nation building.

Feedback

We have a feedback mechanism that will enable us evaluate the level of impact we are making through our participants. This will be monitored by focusing our lenses on the following: Social action taken by our participants, impact of those actions, and its multiplier effect.

Community

This is our mentorship forum. To foster the cause of Nation Building, our community of pace-setting young Nigerians who are intending or already involved in governance and politics, civil society engagement, social entrepreneurship, social impact among others, will be put under the tutelage of experts in their respective fields.
